Note: you can take the UFM Challenge at any time throughout the year, but we take the Challenge together every January and July.

This is the arm-twisting sister pose…

The Uber Frugal Month Challenge is awesome, free, and has 31 daily emails from moi. Through this Challenge, we’re going to save money like nobody’s business (well, like our business, actually) and we’re going to embark on a transformative journey to analyze the mechanics and the mindset behind our spending.

The Uber Frugal Month guides you through the process of saving as much money as you possibly can, but more importantly, it provides a re-set for the consumer mindset that many of us get caught up in. This month prompts you to think not only about where you’re spending your money, but why you’re spending it. Reforming your relationship with money isn’t a simple question of spending less and saving more, it’s a question of performing a holistic reflection on your priorities and how they relate to your money.

Why Take A Money Management Challenge?

I mean, why not?!? How you manage your money has the power to dictate the type of life you’ll lead. Your money won’t make you happy, but it has ability to make you profoundly unhappy.

Sunflowers in the garden

Charting a proactive relationship with your finances is easier than most of us realize. It’s not a mysterious, shrouded, dangerous thing. It’s pretty straightforward. It involves some math. You might need to bust out a spreadsheet. But I’ll walk you through it during the UFM Challenge.

I’m not a math major. I’m not a financial professional. I’m not even particularly good with numbers (hello fellow calculator users everywhere!). I explain money in a way that I understand. I don’t talk down to you–I talk at my level, which is pretty mediocre. If you’ve never really thought about your finances before, if you’re not totally sure what I mean by “finances,” then this Challenge is for you.

Join me and start taking charge of one of the most crucial–and determinant–aspects of your life. It’ll be ok, I’ll be there with you. Plus, the Challenge is free, so you really have nothing to lose. Should I charge money for it? Probably. But again, I’m not a math person ;).

The Four Tendencies quiz helps pinpoint your motivation style – https://quiz.gretchenrubin.com/. Mrs. FW, I’m guessing you’re an Upholder or a Questioner based on how you write the blog! I admire it, and then I struggle because my type is Rebel ha!

    1. THANK YOU SO MUCH! For sharing this. I thought “hmmm, wonder what that is” and clicked on it. This information makes a lot of things about me make sense that never did before. I’m also a Rebel and I never understood why I struggle so much when other people have no trouble.

  2. Mrs. Frugalwoods, is there a way to email you or otherwise contact you? My family is hosting a big reunion next year. It’s the very first one we’re doing and I’m in charge of planning it. I’ve never done something this big before and I was hoping to reach out for help finding ways to keep it frugal for everyone coming, sort of like the case studies you’ve done, but for a specific event.

  3. Hello. I’m pretty sure I have signed up for the July Uber Frugal Challenge. But I haven’t received anything?

Can’t do mental arithmetic either, so I’m with you on the calculator!

  6. Super excited, iv read your blog for a few years now and this year i have really applied and nearly paid off my debt. Im blogging about my own frugal lifestyle and how i manage to eat for little money with just two of us, with one picky eater.

  7. Why is this the first time that I noticed there are foot-prints on the bottom of those little shoes? So cute!
